Hi,
I have win xp sp2 as a host with vmware workstation 5.5.3. b 34685 and
win 98 se as guest os.
i can drag files between xp and win98se and I can copy text from win98
to xp but what i can not do is copy text from xp to win98. i hable
enabled copy and paste from the preferences menu and installed the
vmware tools in the guest.
I have in the guest win98se 128MB and in the host xp sp2 640MB .

i've just checked with the clipboard viewer in the guest win98 that
when I paste something in the host win xp it says <cannot display.
Data in clipboard is in an unknown format>

Is it possible to copy text from a host to a guest os? how do I make
it work?
Thanks

Make sure that the text is also inserted in CF_TEXT format. (Inspect the
available clipboard formats)

IOW it's a problem of the application that puts the text into the
clipboard. If you close the application, it should leave a CF_TEXT
format in the clipboard, ready for use in the guest or other older
applications.
